Vanilla Matcha Energy Bites

Who doesn’t love a delicious burst of nutrients and energy?

Power balls are my favourite way to create nutrient dense, filling, AND delicious sweet treats.

Matcha green tea is a powerhouse. It’s loaded with B vitamins, L-theanine, and a ton of antioxidants to help your cells receive the nutrition they need to withstand the daily threats of oxidative stress.

This traditional tea grows with struggle. It's usually grown in the shade, making it “harder” to thrive.

Just like we build character through hard things, plants “sweat” and become just a lil’ bit more power packed. Because of this plant’s fight for life, it has more amino acids than other teas.

Despite it’s earthy flavour, it’s got a bit sweeter of a taste than other green teas too - the result of the “sweat.”

I love drinking matcha in the morning, but for an afternoon pick me up? The vanilla matcha pairing is really one that can’t be beat.

With just a dash of sea salt to contrast the sweetness of the dates, these power balls are seriously AMAZING.

Here’s how to make ‘em.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of pitted medjool dates

  • 2 cups of sprouted rolled oats

  • 2 tbsp of coconut oil

  • 1 tsp of matcha powder

  • 3 scoops of Organifi Vanilla Complete Protein Powder

  • 1/2 tsp of organic vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in the food processor.

  2. Process until all ingredients are broken down and the processor “catches” it and it becomes one rotating lump of goodness.

  3. Empty the lump into a large bowl to avoid putting your hand in where the blade is.

  4. Roll out the size of ball you’d like to consume throughout the week. I like to make mine smaller and eat a handful. You can alternatively make large ones, or roll it out flat with a rolling pin and cut into power bars.
